If students enter the program ready to be immersed in the courses, theyll have their minds opened to different perspectives that could take them anywhere.
I feel like people think you have to really grind and maybe cut out certain things in your life, but you dont have to do that. The online program is tailored to people with careers or other responsibilities.
I worked on some assignments during a trip to Disney, I worked on some stuff at the beach... I just loved that I could still have an active life even though I was in school. I think that was the best part.
Im not a typical librarian who just reads books. I do whatever the teachers are teaching in their classrooms. The program taught us how to look at curriculum, so I can have those conversations with my colleagues now to make sure everything is aligned.
The general studies degree is so versatile. If youre entering this program, just go for it, because it doesnt mean that youre undecisive. It just means youre exploring and learning new things along the way.
A nursing instructor told this to me... 'Never forget to pay yourself once youre done.' And remember that nothing worth having comes easy. Dont give up on yourself because you never know whats going to find you.
If earning your MBA is something you want to do, do it. Put your heart into it, and know that you can achieve it. UL Lafayette will always have a lasting impression on me because of the experience I had.
I didnt feel like I had to give up so much of my life to get my MBA. I could take my time with it. I could take one class every eight weeks and not feel overwhelmed. I could really soak in all the education, do my homework, and feel like Im learning something.
In criminal justice, theres no such thing as a stupid question. Youll find areas that youre interested in. Pursue those areas, dig deeper, and make it your own.
