The general studies degree is so versatile. If youre entering this program, just go for it, because it doesnt mean that youre undecisive. It just means youre exploring and learning new things along the way.
A nursing instructor told this to me... 'Never forget to pay yourself once youre done.' And remember that nothing worth having comes easy. Dont give up on yourself because you never know whats going to find you.
If earning your MBA is something you want to do, do it. Put your heart into it, and know that you can achieve it. UL Lafayette will always have a lasting impression on me because of the experience I had.
I didnt feel like I had to give up so much of my life to get my MBA. I could take my time with it. I could take one class every eight weeks and not feel overwhelmed and really be able to soak in all the education and do my homework and really feel like Im learning something.
The program gave me the flexibility to be able to work on the coursework at my own pace, whenever I wanted to. Everything was on my terms, besides the due date.
In criminal justice, theres no such thing as a stupid question. Youll find areas that youre interested in. Pursue those areas, dig deeper, and make it your own.
At the end of the day, I think the best part of being in college is the networking. Everyone comes from different walks of life to attend the University. Make sure that you meet different people across different organizations, and the sky is the limit.
I always tell the kids I coach that its OK if you want to get into the workforce, but you have to get an education. Whether its online, on campus, I dont care. Just get an education.
Theres always going to be ups and downs, and youre going to have those days where you just feel like this isnt worth it or you dont want to do it anymore. Stick with it. It will be worth it in the end, and you will be proud that you did it.
