July 11, 2018 — Thank You

Dear Faculty & Staff,

Thank you for the wonderful welcome given to me and my family in our first week at UL.  Each day, as I walk our campus and talk with students, faculty and staff, I grow increasingly excited about the strong foundation on which we can build.  Your enthusiasm about UL’s future is inspiring, and I look forward to continuing our conversations and learning more about ways that together we can further advance the university.

One of the consistent concerns that I have heard is the condition of campus facilities and sidewalks.  I share those concerns.  With several hundred potential students and their parents visiting campus this summer, it is important that we demonstrate the pride we have in our campus.  For these reasons, I have directed an aggressive building cleanup effort and the repair of numerous sidewalks.  This campus-wide cleanup and repair will be ongoing throughout the summer.  We will do our best to minimize any inconvenience and hope that you see these activities as progress toward our shared goal of creating a more inviting and attractive learning environment.
