Zend

Zend Framework was conceived in early 2005 while many new frameworks, were gaining popularity in the web development community, Zend framework was publicly announced.

On July1, 2007, Zend Framework 1.0 was released.

Zend Framework is a use-at-will framework. Though it provides components for the MVC, Table Data Gateway and Row Data Gateway design patterns that can be used to establish a basic structure for the Zend Framework applications, yet there is not a single development paradigm only that must be followed by the Zend Framework users. Zend Framework provides you with the proper processes, checks and effective way of accomplishing a task in the PHP community. This framework is the leading open-source PHP framework and has a flexible architecture that lets you easily build modern web applications and web services. The Zend server community has delivered a well supported and thoroughly tested PHP5 framework that gives open source code and the latest Web2.0 and Cloud Computing technologies.

Code contributions to Zend Framework are subject to rigorous code, Documentation and testing standards. All code must meet ZF’s coding standards.

The InfoWorldBossies (Best of Open Source Software awards) have recognized ZendFramework in the category of best open source application development software.

Way NanoWebTech works with Zend Framework

While using Zendframework we follow certain guidelines. These are designed to make group projects easier. Coding standards help ensure that the code is high quality, has fewer bugs, and can be easily maintained.

  • We install the Zend Framework and then download and extract the framework. Once the copies of Zend Framework are available, our application is able to access the framework classes as our PHP includes the path to Zend Framework’s library.
  • We make sure the files are clean i.e. no leading or trailing spaces that can call a Web server to unexpectedly send content before headers, standard indents 0f four spaces etc.
  • Underscores are forbidden in function names
  • We declare all variables as private, protected or public and use PHP tag, as in not the short form ()
  • Each PHP file includes documentation that is easy to be read by the PHP Documenter.
  • We use most current release of PHP for critical security and performance enhancements.
