God put it on my heart that it was time to go back. I didnt know where I was going or how I was going to do it, but I knew that I really loved UL Lafayette and that if I can go through all that school and make good grades, I deserve to finish off with something.
It was easy to navigate, and the instructors answered questions promptly. University staff would actually reach out throughout the semesters to see if I had questions and see how I was doing. It was nice to have the constant support.
"There are not many things you get to do as big as this. Enjoy the experience, take it slow, and ask questions when they come up because UL Lafayette has a huge support system. Thats one of the reasons I decided to go back.
A lot of employers that we collaborate with come back semester after semester asking for more of our students. Thats how we know were doing something right.
I was still able to do my job, be a mom, be a wife, be a caregiver, and do all the other things because I had so much structure through the professors. They are wonderful. They made it doable."
I'm glad I chose the informatics program at UL Lafayette because it had computer science, project management, cybersecurity and a lot of really interesting classes that I wouldn't have gotten through other programs.
Dont give up. It can get overwhelming, but its not hard. Remain focused because at the end when you finish, youre going to realize how much it was worth it.
Its important that we have this Doctor of Nursing Practice program and continue to support nurses completing this program. This program is building a stronger nursing profession and a stronger healthcare industry across the country.
