Ragin’ Cajuns Water Ski Team members earn national recognition

Members of the national champion Ragin’ Cajuns Water Ski Team are among the 2025 National Collegiate Water Ski Association Annual Awards winners and nominees.

Sage Pottbecker was chosen Female Outstanding Leader of the Year, while Kennedy Hansen is Female Athlete of the Year.

Team members Corbin Pierce and Dominic Kuhn both were nominated for Male Athlete of the Year. James Bryans received a nomination as Male Outstanding Leader of the Year.

Earlier this year, the Ragin’ Cajuns Water Ski Team claimed its sixth consecutive Division 1 national title, bringing the program’s total to 12 national championships – the most of any team in school history. The team competes as a club sport rather than an NCAA-sanctioned sport.

The team also earned Division 1 national championships in 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2019, 2015, 2010, 2005, 2003, 1997 and 1995. Championships were not held in 2020.

The National Collegiate Water Ski Association is the national governing body for collegiate water skiing in the United States. It organizes competition, sets standards and promotes collegiate water skiing across the country. .

Award recipients will be recognized on Jan. 31 during the USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Banquet in Lakeland, Florida.
